The Big News... on Tuesday, March 1, 2005 @ 13:07 PM
Okay, so the real reason I've been so bad about writing in Emma's journal...I was afraid I'd say something about our "big news" and we hadn't really told everyone the news yet...so I was kind of waiting til everyone knew. And I think most everyone knows now, but for anyone reading this who DOESN'T know (where have you been??) - Miss Emma is going to be a big sister in September. Yes, we are expecting Baby V. #2 and right now the estimated date of arrival is September 13th!

We are very excited about it - or at least Jamie and I are. Emma really was excited about her Big Sister sweatshirt (how we told the grandparents) for awhile, and she will tell you that there is a baby in Mommy's tummy. But if you ask her if we are going to have a baby come stay with us, seven times out of ten she will tell you "noooo." The other few times she might say "yes...a Baby Bella," which is one of the new babies in our playgroup. She is certain that our baby is a baby girl - I guess she really wants a sister :-)!

If I were a betting woman...I'd say this one is a girl, too. I have been just as sick (morning sickness is such a misnomer - it is morning/noon/night sickness) as I was with Emma. But it feels about ten times worse because I have a little toddler depending on me. There have been quite a few mornings in the past few months where Emma gets some milk and dry cheerios for about an hour til I feel ok enough to make her breakfast. She seems to be no worse for the wear, though. And now that we are in our third month, I'm hoping the worst is over. I remember how much I loved being pregnant with Emma - it clearly must have been the second trimester, because I had really forgotten about the icky first trimester!

At any rate, we have a list of projects for poor Jam to try to do in his "free" time to get prepared for our new addition. We are going to lose our office, so we are going to move it down to the room that is completely empty in the front of the house, and then move Em over to the room that is the office now, and keep her room as the nursery (it's the smallest, warmest and quietest room in the house!). So we get to do a "big girl" room for Em and re-do the room downstairs, so that is kind of exciting. And Jam just built this great wall storage unit in the rec room in the basement for all of the toys - and I'm going to make that mostly into a playroom for the kids. Wow, it is so weird to write "kids" - plural.

So we are busy - and now Em's baby journal will more than likely become the "kids' journal" - I don't think I'll be able to keep up with 2 journals and 2 websites, so already Baby #2 is getting the short end of the stick! But I'll make up for it and make sure to take lots of pictures and try to do as good of a job as I at least did for Em! I keep getting requests for belly pics again - so I'll get Jam to take some, there isn't much of one some days - but then other days it feels HUGE - my guess is it will be way before 20 weeks when we start documenting this one's growth! That is a second kid for you, I guess.

Now...I may be able to fit in a little nap while Em is sleeping - so I'm going to sneak off! We'll talk to you soon.
