I have been putting this entry off because so many things have happened lately, I just knew it was going to take awhile to write it all down. But I have a few quiet minutes now while Em snoozes, so I'll try to catch up.

The biggest news is Papa helped Emma move over to the "Big Girl Bed!" It is quite the excitement around the house these days. Jam had finished her bed before her birthday, but I just hadn't cleaned out the old office, what was to be Em's new room. So Em was excited about her bed, but due to my inability to get my act together, she wasn't able to really sleep in it.

Anyways, Mom and I trekked up to Marquette for Jackie's wedding shower and Emma stayed the weekend with Papa. When we got back to Leslie she informed me that she didn't want to sleep in the crib anymore...she sleeps in the big girl bed. Papa had her sleeping in their little twin bed in the guest room the whole time we were gone. We had a couple of rough nights until we got the routine down, and then it was time to come home. So Jam and I furiously cleaned out the office the night we got home from Leslie and I worried that she wouldn't do as well, but she has been great! And she has been sleeping in there ever since. We have a new bedtime routine which is MUCH easier on Mommy and Daddy than the old crib one, Emma loves her new room, and she tells us all the time that the other room is "Baby Addison's room" and "Baby Addison is going to sleep in the crib, NOT Emma." So it was a pretty smooth transition, I am very thankful to Papa for kicking us into gear and getting it done!

Other than the Big Girl Bed thing, Emma had a fantastic time with Papa. She got spoiled, (I know, I know - that is what Grandparents do!) and got to spend some time with Uncle Ken, Aunt Meesh and all her cousins. And we had a Birthday party for Nena while we were there, too! Nena turned 50 and we had a big shindig at her house, complete with a band and dancing. So it was a very, very busy and fun week.

Now that we are back, I have been trying to finish Em's room so we can start on the Baby's room. But it has been so nice outside I either get sidetracked doing my outside projects, gardening or running through the sprinkler/playing in the pool with Em. I posted some of the sprinkler pictures from the other night. Watching her reminded me so much of a home movie my parents took of Ken and I playing in the sprinkler. There is nothing like watching the pure joy of a kid playing in the sprinkler for the first time. Last year she didn't really enjoy the sprinkler, this year she goes right up and sticks her face in it!

The bathing suit pics are from today - we had a pool party for the playgroup girls - it is so unbelievably hot - almost too hot to be outside, but of course the girls had a great time.

The Wrigley Field pics are from last weekend when our friend Sam was in town. We "touristed" around Chicago a little and Emma is standing on Addison Street in front of the ballpark. (She calls it "Baby Addision's street where the Cubbies live.") And the goofy pictures with the flower shirt, shorts, pj bottoms and messy hair was from last weekend after her nap. I went in to get her and she had taken her diaper off, put her "kitty big girl underpants" on, a pair of pink shorts and her cupcake pajama bottoms over the top. And was sitting on her bed ready to go. It was so funny and frustrating, too! She really loves her big girl underwear, but does not want to go potty on the big potty. She is interested - she watches Madey and Jilly and other people go and cheers for them, etc...but no doing as far as Emma is concerned. I will just let her take her sweet time, I guess. It worked out on the teeth, walking, and everything else.

Let's see...other news. Well, obviously the cat is out of the bag on Baby #2's name. Emma told everyone while we were home in Leslie. For those of you who didn't know - Jam was in charge of naming this one and we were going to keep it a secret til she was born, but nobody in our family is good at secrets - especially cute ones like this! I love how Emma says "Addison." She doesn't quite get the D's in there...and kind of slurs it all together. But she did get to tell Nena, Aunt Amy, Papa, Aunt Meesh, oh and the Schwann's man the name and now she labels everything as Baby Addison's. Yes, Jamie did like the name because Wrigley Field (where the Chicago Cubs play) is on the corner of Addison and Clark - but he liked it for a boy's name first. When he told me it, I liked it but I kind of liked it for a girl better. So when we saw HER on the ultrasound I said "we can still use Addison" and he agreed. So it is official. We haven't decided on a middle name yet, maybe that will be our surprise.

Baby Addison is doing well, though. I did have Jam take some belly pics last month (they are in May's album) and I really need him to do more because I have had a "hefty" month. I go in this week for my monthly check-up and I'm sure they are going to tell me to lay off the eating a bit! I'll have him take some more. Next week we are into our third trimester already and pretty soon we'll be in single digits on the weeks! It is happening pretty quickly. I am sad to leave this part of the pregnancy because I have felt so good and been able to get so much done. I hope the feeling continues, but I'm sure it won't.

Next week we are going to fly down to Orlando for a long, long weekend to visit Uncle Jeff who is working there for almost the entire month of June. We get to go visit Mickey again - and I'm even more excited about it now, I think Em will have a little bit better understanding of what is going on than she did last year. We are going to try to go to SeaWorld, too. So I'm excited for that.

So I'm sure I'll probably be another few weeks til I can write and catch up again. I hope everyone is doing well. I had better go clean up the playgroup destruction before the next round starts. Take care!
