Sleeping beauties... on Wednesday, January 18, 2006 @ 16:43 PM
This is a first, both girls asleep (for nearly an hour, now) at the same time!! I just double-checked on them because I almost can't believe my luck! I think Addie is finally starting to get the hang of naptime. I was just looking back through the journal entries, this is about when Em started getting the hang of it, too. So bittersweet...she is already growing up so quickly and losing her sweet little newborn nuances and getting her own little personality, she seems to change every single day. We go the end of this week for her 4 month (we are a little off) checkup, but I think she is thriving and definitely hitting all of her milestones. I put up pics of her in her new favorite pasttime, the exersaucer! It is a whole new, upright world, and she loves it! The funniest thing is that there is a little toy king and queen on the exersaucer and she just LOVES that toy - she laughs and coos at it and jibber-jabbers away at it - EXACTLY the way Emma did. It totally caught me off guard when I was watching her and had a flashback to Emma doing the exact same thing. I know you're not supposed to compare the two girls, and I try really hard not to expect the same things from Addie, but when she does something so similar to what Emma used to do, or has the same look - it really brings back all those Emma memories and is just so fun and sweet. I find something new each day to love about those little girlies.

Poor Emma Grace has been so sick this past week. I have been super relaxed on all the rules because I just feel so badly for her. Jamie had an awful cold/flu thing when he got home from Vegas (probably picked it up from some dice at the craps table!:-) and although he tried to sequester himself in the basement as much as possible, I think Em's immunity was still down from Christmas so she picked it up. She had a super high fever that we just couldn't get down and finally the doctor put her on some medicine. She is doing much better this week, but she still just gets this pathetic little "wiped-out" look and doesn't even fuss when it is naptime, so I know she is still fighting it and not feeling completely well.

In other news, I guess we can write about our newest adventure now, I think we have told everyone and it is starting to become a reality...the Voris family is on the move. We are packing up and heading for the hills...Beverly Hills, that is. Jam has moved into a new position at work and will be working from the LA office starting sometime this spring, so we are trying to get the details sorted out and selling our house and looking for a new one out there! Right now we are looking in the Pasadena area - so we'll keep you updated on that one. It is very exciting, a little scary, but I think it will be a fun adventure. Emma is excited to live closer to Mickey's house, and she keeps saying we are going to buy a "tiny house for Addie" - I'm not sure she realizes that we are all going to live in the tiny house, not just Addie. The other day she asked if we could find a house for Kim and Lauren, too. So sweet...that will be such a hard part of moving!

Well, I hear Miss Addie stirring. I got almost 2 hours out of her, can't expect more than that! We'll check in later -
