Soooo big! on Monday, February 27, 2006 @ 22:30 PM
Both of our girls are getting so big! We had a monumental day today - Addie sat for quite a while by herself (she is still in the tripod position, but she was definitely upright) and Emma pooped on the potty!! (Those of you who have been following Emma's potty training know what progress this really is!) It has been a fantastic day. Addie really likes looking at the world from the upright position and Emma just wanted to call and tell EVERYONE about her achievement. She kept saying "You're really proud of me, Mommy." And I am. It has been so hard to remain patient and calm and not be upset by our setbacks, but I am learning that this is just the first step in being a patient parent, I'm sure I'll get tons more practice.

Jam is in LA and our favorite babysitter sat with the girls tonight so Mommy could get some time with her other Mommy friends. We have a date place in downtown Naperville called Ethel's Chocolate Lounge, which is just as it sounds...a totally fun lounge-type place where we can get all sugared up on good chocolate fondue...WITHOUT kids!! It was fun and totally gives me a new perspective on life...a little gossip, some laughs, oh, did I mention the chocolate?? It was a yummy night.

We just got back from Meesh's house last weekend, where we had another fun, yummy time. The girls and I drove up on Wednesday night - thankfully since Michigan got hit with a crazy ice storm (we actually lost power and read by candlelight - it was kinda fun!) on Thursday. So we spent the weekend and got some good Aunt and cousin time, got to visit my best friends from high school and college, and still made it home to spend a few days with Daddy. The girls were GREAT travelers, thankfully. I was a little worried about traveling with them by myself, but the timing was right on and we had no problems.

This weekend we are heading out again - this time by plane to spend the weekend and part of next week with Daddy in San Diego. Emma is very excited because she gets to wear her new sandals. Mommy is very excited because the house will stay really clean and I won't have to go behind Emma the tornado and try to keep it clean...this is proving to be an impossible and exhausting feat. I really hope we don't have too much longer to go on the showing of the house (still no offers, obviously!).

I'm sure I'll have tons 'o pictures next week. I put up a few today of the "sitting up" and dressing up, and a really cute one of Jam and Addie...you can really see her whole chubby-lubby self! So many yummy rolls!!
