Happy 6 months to our little sweet potato! on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 @ 10:48 AM
Well, we were traveling last week when Addie officially turned 6 months, so I have that excuse, the rest of this week...I, um, have no excuse. We have been trying to get back into our groove after being gone for nearly a week, I'm trying to get some projects done and yes...we are still trying to sell the house.

We had two open houses last week and got a lot of traffic, and very encouraging interest according to our real estate agent, so we are hopeful that the market is improving. We did get an offer Monday, which is a good sign, not an offer we took, but it is promising that people are starting to think about buying a house. The whole process is exhausting (and I'm sure not very fun for Em) and it is so hard to keep the house spic-n-span at all times, so I'm hoping something happens very soon.

Jamie just got back from Austin - he went on to another conference while the girls and I came back from our vacation in San Diego last Friday. Well, the girls and I had a vacation, he had to go to a conference there too, but it was nice to be away and get to see him for a little bit. We did SeaWorld, the SD Zoo, the aquarium, and of course, played in the ocean (yeah, it was not very warm in California, nor in the ocean!). Most of my fave pics from the week I put up in the March album already.

So...Addie turned 6 months last week!! How crazy is that - she has been around for half of a year already? She is continually delighting us and becoming a remarkably happy and sweet baby. You definitely know when something is wrong - because she only cries when something is just not right (or Emma tried to give her "love" and squeezed a little too tight!). She grew 2 inches in the past 2 months and is now in the 90th percentile for height (all of her pants are capri pants right now) and she is a chub-a-lub of love weighing in just over 17 pounds! It doesn't seem like that much til you start schleping her all around Meijer, Target or San Diego in the sling...believe me, 17 pounds is heavy.

Emma is counting down the days til she turns "free" (as am I...let's see 15 years and one month :-), make that THREE...she is very excited about her birthday, spring, our new flowers, addie, mmm...just about everything. Her exhuberance about life is very sweet. She also has a newfound independence streak and as Meesh likes to say is going to be my "strong-willed" child. She and I clash - at least twice a day over the stupidest stuff - but then we get to "make-up" and there is nothing sweeter than her saying "It's ok, Mommy, I know you love me and I still love you" - whew! The wonderful age of 2. I hate to think of our house in 12 years, when it isn't so easy to make-up! The good news is that we are completely dry/clean going on 2 weeks now...I hate to say it out loud, but I think we have finally figured out the potty training thing! I still haven't bit the bullet and gone cold turkey at night, but I figure it will come when Emma wants it...just like everything else did.

Well, today is errand day so we are off to do all of them. I hope you are all doing well, and we'll update more soon.
