Last Chicago Entry... on Thursday, May 25, 2006 @ 11:02 AM
I feel like all I've talked about the last few months is preparing to move and as I write this, the movers are here packing everything up...so soon the packing/moving entries will be finished, bear with me for another week or so!

This is probably it for my Chicago entries, though - since the computer will be packed up soon, too. I guess I could "borrow" J.'s laptop, but the chances of that happening in the next few days, AND actually getting time to write, are pretty slim.

Emma is spending the day with her friend Jilly so she isn't here for the commotion. I think she is handling all of this pretty well. Yesterday we went through her toy boxes again to see if there was anything we could give away to kids who don't have any toys. She was surprisingly generous but she made certain that a few things HAVE to come with us. This morning we went through and tried to pull out some stuff for the plane and next week before we get our stuff. Bear and blankie were of course at the top of the list, and she made me promise before she left with Jilly that I would make sure Bear and Blankie didn't get packed up. She is such a sweet kid! Remind me of that when I am ranting about how ___________ (fill-in-the-blank with whiney, bratty, impossible, cranky, grumpy) she is being now that we have hit the lovely "threes"!

Addie just got up from a two-hour nap - usually her naps in the morning are only one-hour, so I'm thinking she is getting ready for a growth spurt. Last week we couldn't get enough food into her and this week she is sleeping really well, so I think it is coming. It could be now that her teeth are through, too. She wasn't too bad considering they both came in at pretty much the same time. She has been a little clingy lately, though. I need to pay some extra attention to her today while Em is away.

I'm listening to the new Dixie Chicks CD right now. I know, I know...love them or hate them, they still make great music. One of their new songs is called "Lullaby" and it is the perfect song. I'm trying to learn it so I can sing it to the girls - it just says perfectly what I feel for them.
