The weather is awesome, our place is great, our town is amazing, the girls are adjusting well, and we are almost unpacked! That's about it in a nutshell...

But, I can't believe it has only been two weeks since we left Chicago...they have been insane!

I'll start at the very beginning (a very good place to start...) We had a bit of a problem at the closing, which thankfully our realtor was able to take care of for us. Then we were sweating (literally) getting the cats on the plane - if it is 85 degrees at either the origin or destination, the airlines will not fly the cats. Thankfully it was somewhat cool...so they made the trip. The flight was pretty uneventful otherwise.

We shopped and found a car for Jam (very cute Mini Cooper convertible - it does fit two carseats in the back!) and waited (tried to) patiently for our place to be completed. Our stuff arrived Monday, the 5th - but we had no appliances. The appliances finally arrived Tuesday night, but didn't fit. And there were all kinds of little things that still needed to be fixed - tiles, windows, blinds, outlets, oh...and the WATER - we were without for a few hours each day last week. So last week we pretty much left the door open and workmen wandered in and out of our apartment.

This week, I think, (knock on wood) most everything is taken care of. We are just trying to whittle down our mountain of boxes. Did I not make three trips to Goodwill and have a HUGE garage sale before we left? The boxes are multiplying - reproducing while we sleep.

Amongst all of this we have managed to have a little down time and some fun, too! We went to Disney with Jeff one day (some pics are up on the site). Over the weekend we walked downtown had a great dinner, got some ice cream and leisurely walked home. I was so happy - it was exactly what I have hoped for, to live somewhere I can walk and take advantage of a downtown. And yesterday the girls and I went to the LA zoo. It is 7 miles from our house, and about 2 from J.'s office, so he met us there for lunch. (He has been hopping home for lunch a lot - and doesn't leave the house til 8:30 or so - the girls are loving it! Me, too.) The zoo was very fun...but I had to tell Emma a little white lie when she asked what the Daddy giraffe was doing to the Mommy giraffe. (They were making baby giraffes...NO KIDDING!!) I told her "uh, the Daddy is trying to give the Mommy a hug." Yeah, she bought it...what do you expect, she is 3!

Addie turned 9 months old last week and the differences in just last week versus this week are astounding! She has either found the motivation, or just figured it was time, and is starting to scoot her way around. I put her on one side of the room yesterday and she got to the other side by the time I came back in. She sort of leans on her hands and has one knee in the right position, but can't get the other knee around, so she kind of hops on her bottom and pulls herself forward. It is funny - but now I really have to get the stuff unpacked and baby proofed!

She goes for her 9-month checkup tomorrow and we get to meet the new pediatrician. I'll update you on how that goes.

Well, J. is in Chicago for two days and I am intent on getting the house looking presentable by the time he returns. We worked super hard today and I'm just beat, so I'm off to bed. Sunny thoughts to all of you...
