10 months...the countdown is on. on Monday, July 10, 2006 @ 00:24 AM
Well, Addikins has made it to ten months. She has suddenly become this little person full of energy, opinions, and a personality. I think this is the age when babies really start to be FUN. Not that little, little ones aren't fun, but I mean she can really interact and she is soooo funny! I think she is going to have her Daddy's sense of humor, she giggles a lot and has the sweetest smile (next to her sister's, of course).

As I said in my last post, she has figured out the crawling thing. She is getting faster, but she has to take little "breaks" and she will sit back on her knees and just clap and clap, and look extremely proud of herself. She is her biggest cheerleader. Ah, I take that back - Emma might be her biggest cheerleader. It is so amazing to watch the two of them together. Emma still gets a little excitable, and practically mauls Addie, but Addie simply smiles, or laughs and looks adoringly at her big sister. It is priceless. I wish I could bottle all of this sisterly love and save it for when they are older and insist that they hate each other.

Addie is finally giving me a break, too. She has discovered her Daddy is very fun. I remember when Emma did the same thing...suddenly it wasn't all Mama, and a lot more Dada. It is so sweet because J. is really, really good with both of them. It really does make you love your man even more to see him really interact and play with your children. Sometimes I feel like that feeling is going to make my heart expand right out of my chest. I sure do love our little family.

Addie has a little weird infatuation with holes though...pretty much any sort of hole - like the holes in the Hungry Caterpillar book, the holes in Emma's Crocs, holes in furniture where the pieces are screwed together, her NOSTRILS. If there is a hole she feels the need to stick her chubby little pointer finger in it to investigate. Emma of course thinks this is hysterical and is always telling me that Addie is "picking her nose" or that she "needs a tissue". I am paranoid she is going to try to stick her finger in a light socket or something where she could seriously get hurt. (I'm not too fond of her finger in MY nose, either.

She got her third tooth in last week, and I think she is working on #4, #5 and #6 (all on the top) all at the same time. Yet despite all of them trying to push through, she is still pretty good-natured and we are starting to get back on a sleep routine. And that is pretty much the Addie update.

Emma Grace had her first swim lesson last week and she was awesome! The pics are up in the photo album. She pretty much ditched me as soon as she was introduced to her instructor and didn't want to leave the pool when the lesson was over. So I was worried for nothing, she did great! We are hopefully going to start dance class this week and find a preschool because now she is really excited about class and going to school. Although the crazy preschools here are intense and very competitive. Apparently people start to get on waitlists when they are still pregnant! So hopefully we'll find somewhere accepting for the fall.

We are also going to visit the aquarium with our new friends (the Mom and 2 girls we met in Trader Joe's) this week - I don't know who is more excited by the playdate, Emma or me! I had a little girl's day out today - had lunch and caught a movie with Wendy and her Mom - and now that the house is starting to get in order, I feel like it is time to get on with the fun stuff! Bring on the activities!!

I did also kind of get a new project and some more work coming my way this past week, so I should really go look into that while I have a few minutes. I'll hop on later in the week with the updates.
